BOARD SECRETARY 

Part time – 16 hours / week 

Great Ocean Road Health is currently seeking a suitable candidate for the role of Board Secretary. The Board Secretary, under the guidance of the Chief Executive Officer and the Board Chair, will be responsible for facilitating the organisation’s corporate governance processes and holding primary responsibility for ensuring that Board processes are run efficiently and effectively. 

Proven experience as a Board Secretary or in a similar governance role and knowledge and understanding of the role and responsibilities of Committees and Organisational Boards is essential.

Great Ocean Road Health is seeking highly motivated Cooks to join our dynamic Food Service Teams at both Lorne Community Hospital and Otway Health Campus. Role involves the preparation and delivery of meals in accordance with Great Ocean Road Health’s Food Safety Plan, ensure legislative requirements are met and maintain and continuously improve on high standards of food safety for all food produced within the health service.

Kitchen Assistant

Part time – 9 hours / fortnight (3 x 3 hour shifts / fortnight)

GORH (Otway Health Campus) is seeking a suitable candidate for the role of Kitchen Assistant as part of the Food Services Team.   Duties include; cleaning food preparation areas and cooking equipment, serving and delivering meals and other tasks as delegated by the Catering Officer. Shifts times are 4.30pm – 7.30pm.

 The position is subject to a rotating roster and weekend work is required.

Hospital Attendant

 Part time – 22.5 hours / week

(Job share – 2 x positions available)

Fixed term – 6 months

As a result of COVID 19 screening requirements, 2 short term positions are currently available to assist in welcoming and screening persons on arrival at the Lorne Medical Centre. Previous healthcare experience is not required. All required training will be provided prior to commencement. Excellent interpersonal skills essential. Hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 1.00pm & 1.00pm – 5.30pm.

General Practitioner – Apollo Bay Medical Centre

Full-time and part-time positions available

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Busy and growing, mixed billing clinic – high earning potential
  • Ability to work  part-time or full-time
  • Desirable location on the Great Ocean Road
  • Experience or interest in the provision of supervision for GP Trainees


ROLE

This GPA accredited mixed billing clinic sees 120-160 patients a week, providing care for the local communities as well as a significant tourist population between December and April.

As Apollo Bay Medical Centre is part of Great Ocean Road Health, there is an integrated multidisciplinary approach to care within the health service and a sharing of staff and expertise with Lorne Medical Centre, also part of Great Ocean Road Health. The service is also well supported by specialist regional services from Barwon Health

Participation in the After-Hours Urgent Care on call roster is available.

Support from a Practice Nurse, experienced Administration staff and a Practice Manager, will see you rapidly transition smoothly into the community within this well-established Centre.


PACKAGE

About Apollo Bay Medical Centre

PRACTICE DETAILS

The Apollo Bay Medical Centre is integrated within the Otway Health site, part of Great Ocean Road Health, which includes Urgent Care, Aged Care (20 beds) Acute Care and Community Care. The centre has visiting Allied Health and Specialist services on a regular basis. Pathology services are also on site with a pharmacy located within the community.

Apollo Bay Medical Centre currently has 3 doctors – 1 VR, 2 Registrars and Nurse Practitioners in the Urgent Care.  The Medical Centre consists of 5 consulting rooms with a treatment room.

Current practice hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 5.45 pm and Saturday 9 am to 12 pm, closed on Sundays.

The main patient health issues impacting on the practice are women’s health, Diabetes, and Chronic Disease Management within the community, with a wide range of clients accessing services during the summer months with an influx of tourists to the region between December and April.

Access to an Allied Health referral network is available through Otway Health with a wide range of services readily accessible.

Lorne and Apollo Bay practices are operating in similar organisation structures with integrated primary care focus. They work together to provide Great Care to the communities along the Great Ocean Road.
