RUSON  – Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing

Great Ocean Road Health are offering an exciting opportunity to join our RUSON Program.

The program will provide a supportive environment to consolidate knowledge and develop your nursing skills.  There will be an opportunity to work in our Aged Care area, Acute and Urgent Care Services and to assist with Covid 19 response, including vaccination and testing. Calling all Cleaners

Reporting directly to the Director Community Services, and working across both the Apollo Bay and Lorne Campuses of Great Ocean Road Health,  the Manager will be responsible for the strategic development and the delivery of Allied Health and In Home Support Programs, ensuring the highest quality, person –centred services are provided to clients.

Essential requirements for this role include:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the community, home care, disability, aged care & health sectors
  • Demonstrated experience in health, particularly client service provision, quality management, incident management and resolution;

Allied Health Assistant

Part time – Lorne

GORH (Lorne) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Allied Health Assistant to join our team. The role provides therapeutic and program related support to our Allied Health Professionals (AHP). Primary job requirements include the organisation and communication of a range of client related and administrative activities. This includes delivering customised programs for groups and individuals in the community, acute care and residential aged care setting.

Key Requirements for the role include Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant (or willingness to undertake), experience working in a community health setting and experience in the provision of health related interventions for community groups and individuals.

While this role is part time (up to 3 days per week) applicants seeking a full time position may be able to be accommodated with additional employment as a Community Care Worker for the remaining 2 days.

Lorne Community House require an Early Years Educator Team Leader with a minimum of a Diploma of Early Years Education or equivalent to care for children aged approx. 18 months to 4 years.

After Hours Coordinator – Night Duty

Part time/Full time

GORH, are seeking After Hours Coordinators to work at either our Apollo Bay Hospital or Lorne Community Hospital Campus.  The After Hours Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical care along with managing the Hospital after hours. The AHC is a leadership role that includes the delegation and supervision of other staff on the shift ensuring that patient care is of the highest standard.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience and will be on night and evening shifts whilst being the After Hours Coordinator for Aged Care and Urgent Care. Emergency Department and Advanced Life Support Education is highly desirable. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability and experience to lead a clinical team of nurses and carers is essential.

General Practitioner – Apollo Bay Medical Centre

Full-time and part-time positions available

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Busy and growing, mixed billing clinic – high earning potential
  • Ability to work  part-time or full-time
  • Desirable location on the Great Ocean Road
  • Experience or interest in the provision of supervision for GP Trainees


ROLE

This GPA accredited mixed billing clinic sees 120-160 patients a week, providing care for the local communities as well as a significant tourist population between December and April.

As Apollo Bay Medical Centre is part of Great Ocean Road Health, there is an integrated multidisciplinary approach to care within the health service and a sharing of staff and expertise with Lorne Medical Centre, also part of Great Ocean Road Health. The service is also well supported by specialist regional services from Barwon Health

Participation in the After-Hours Urgent Care on call roster is available.

Support from a Practice Nurse, experienced Administration staff and a Practice Manager, will see you rapidly transition smoothly into the community within this well-established Centre.

About Apollo Bay Medical Centre

PRACTICE DETAILS

The Apollo Bay Medical Centre is integrated within the Otway Health site, part of Great Ocean Road Health, which includes Urgent Care, Aged Care (20 beds) Acute Care and Community Care. The centre has visiting Allied Health and Specialist services on a regular basis. Pathology services are also on site with a pharmacy located within the community.

Apollo Bay Medical Centre currently has 3 doctors – 1 VR, 2 Registrars and Nurse Practitioners in the Urgent Care.  The Medical Centre consists of 5 consulting rooms with a treatment room.

Current practice hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 5.45 pm and Saturday 9 am to 12 pm, closed on Sundays.

The main patient health issues impacting on the practice are women’s health, Diabetes, and Chronic Disease Management within the community, with a wide range of clients accessing services during the summer months with an influx of tourists to the region between December and April.

Access to an Allied Health referral network is available through Otway Health with a wide range of services readily accessible.

Lorne and Apollo Bay practices are operating in similar organisation structures with integrated primary care focus. They work together to provide Great Care to the communities along the Great Ocean Road.
