Winter Relief Workforce

Great Ocean Road Health are creating a list of people who would be available to fill shifts over the winter months.

This register will assist us help ensure continuity of care for our residential and community care programs, if our staff or community is hit with further workforce disruptions due to illness.

Roles we are seeking support with include:

  • Registered and Enrolled Nurses
  • Care Staff
  • Food Services
  • Cleaners
  • Volunteer drivers ( to Geelong)

Shifts will be local and workers would not be expected to work full time, just where they can. No prior experience in health is needed for food, cleaning, and driving roles.

Relief workers will be lending a much needed hand through difficult times.

Workers will require a National Police Check, Working with Children Check and be willing to partake in GORHs immunisation policy.

Financial Accountant

GORH  (Lorne) currently has a vacancy for the role of a Financial Accountant to join our busy Finance Team.

This role requires a solid understanding of Accounting practices and principles along with high levels of organisation and computer skills.

Essential Requirements:

  • Degree in Business, Commerce or Finance
  • Membership of a recognised Accounting body.

Desirable Skills:

  • Exposure to a fast paced Finance office environment, including Payroll

Part Time

GORH is currently seeking an AHPRA registered Physiotherapist for our Allied Health Team. Work is part time, two to three days per week and is negotiable. The Physiotherapist is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating effective care plans and treatment of clients, within the framework of the integrated approach and in consultation with the Allied Health Teams and the client.

Lorne Community House require an Early Years Educator Team Leader with a minimum of a Diploma of Early Years Education or equivalent to care for children aged approx. 18 months to 4 years.

After Hours Coordinator – Night Duty

Part time/Full time

GORH, are seeking After Hours Coordinators to work at either our Apollo Bay Hospital or Lorne Community Hospital Campus.  The After Hours Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical care along with managing the Hospital after hours. The AHC is a leadership role that includes the delegation and supervision of other staff on the shift ensuring that patient care is of the highest standard.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience and will be on night and evening shifts whilst being the After Hours Coordinator for Aged Care and Urgent Care. Emergency Department and Advanced Life Support Education is highly desirable. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability and experience to lead a clinical team of nurses and carers is essential.

General Practitioner – Apollo Bay Medical Centre

Full-time and part-time positions available

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Busy and growing, mixed billing clinic – high earning potential
  • Ability to work  part-time or full-time
  • Desirable location on the Great Ocean Road
  • Experience or interest in the provision of supervision for GP Trainees


ROLE

This GPA accredited mixed billing clinic sees 120-160 patients a week, providing care for the local communities as well as a significant tourist population between December and April.

As Apollo Bay Medical Centre is part of Great Ocean Road Health, there is an integrated multidisciplinary approach to care within the health service and a sharing of staff and expertise with Lorne Medical Centre, also part of Great Ocean Road Health. The service is also well supported by specialist regional services from Barwon Health

Participation in the After-Hours Urgent Care on call roster is available.

Support from a Practice Nurse, experienced Administration staff and a Practice Manager, will see you rapidly transition smoothly into the community within this well-established Centre.

About Apollo Bay Medical Centre

PRACTICE DETAILS

The Apollo Bay Medical Centre is integrated within the Otway Health site, part of Great Ocean Road Health, which includes Urgent Care, Aged Care (20 beds) Acute Care and Community Care. The centre has visiting Allied Health and Specialist services on a regular basis. Pathology services are also on site with a pharmacy located within the community.

Apollo Bay Medical Centre currently has 3 doctors – 1 VR, 2 Registrars and Nurse Practitioners in the Urgent Care.  The Medical Centre consists of 5 consulting rooms with a treatment room.

Current practice hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 5.45 pm and Saturday 9 am to 12 pm, closed on Sundays.

The main patient health issues impacting on the practice are women’s health, Diabetes, and Chronic Disease Management within the community, with a wide range of clients accessing services during the summer months with an influx of tourists to the region between December and April.

Access to an Allied Health referral network is available through Otway Health with a wide range of services readily accessible.

Lorne and Apollo Bay practices are operating in similar organisation structures with integrated primary care focus. They work together to provide Great Care to the communities along the Great Ocean Road.
