Finance Officer (Accounts Payable/Receivable)

GORH currently has a vacancy for the role of Finance Officer, to provide financial administration support, and assistance  to the Finance Department and maintain timely, effective, efficient and well organised office systems and procedures as well as displaying a high regard for confidentiality.

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable &/or Accounts Receivable
  • Knowledge of Oracle Financials preferred

After Hours Coordinator – Night Duty

Part time/Full time

GORH, at both Apollo Bay and Lorne have an exciting opportunity for after Hours Coordinators to join our team. The After Hours Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the clinical care along with managing the Hospital after hours. The AHC is a leadership role that includes the delegation and supervision of other staff on the shift ensuring that patient care is of the highest standard.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience and will be on night and evening shifts whilst being the After Hours Coordinator for Aged Care and Urgent Care. Emergency Department and Advanced Life Support Education is highly desirable. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and the ability and experience to lead a clinical team of nurses and carers is essential.

Hospital Attendant

Casual – Lorne and Apollo Bay positions

GORH are currently seeking applicants for the role of Hospital Attendant on a casual basis to assist in welcoming and screening persons on arrival at both Lorne and Apollo Bay campuses. Previous healthcare experience is not required. All required training will be provided prior to commencement. Excellent interpersonal skills essential.

Hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5pm.

Ward Clerk/Customer Service Office

GORH (Apollo Bay) is currently seeking applications for the role of casual Ward Clerk / Customer Service Officer Support.

This is a busy and rewarding position, suitable for applicants with the following attributes;

  • Great customer service and verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of telephone and booking systems or ability to learn
  • Able to work as part of a team and enjoy challenges

Ward Clerk duties involve assisting the Nurse Unit Manager and the Director of Nursing with all administrative tasks as delegated and experience in a medical field is desirable. The Customer Service Officer duties focus on front line customer assistance as well as general administrative support for the organisations. The successful applicant will move between the 2 roles as required.

Early Years Educator Team Leader

Part time

Lorne Community House require an Early Years Educator Team Leader with a minimum of a Diploma of Early Years Education or equivalent to care for children aged approx. 18 months to 4 years.

Applicants must have;

  • Working with Children Check (Victorian Employee)
  • Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
  • Provide First Aid Certification, including Anaphylaxis and Asthma.

Community Care Worker 

Great Ocean Road Health  is seeking to employ Community Care Workers to provide personal care, domestic assistance services and social support to clients in their homes. We are seeking a compassionate, enthusiastic and caring individuals to join the Community Care team.

The position of Community Care Worker requires the following:

General Practitioner – Apollo Bay Medical Centre

Full-time and part-time positions available

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Busy and growing, mixed billing clinic – high earning potential
  • Ability to work  part-time or full-time
  • Desirable location on the Great Ocean Road
  • Experience or interest in the provision of supervision for GP Trainees


ROLE

This GPA accredited mixed billing clinic sees 120-160 patients a week, providing care for the local communities as well as a significant tourist population between December and April.

As Apollo Bay Medical Centre is part of Great Ocean Road Health, there is an integrated multidisciplinary approach to care within the health service and a sharing of staff and expertise with Lorne Medical Centre, also part of Great Ocean Road Health. The service is also well supported by specialist regional services from Barwon Health

Participation in the After-Hours Urgent Care on call roster is available.

Support from a Practice Nurse, experienced Administration staff and a Practice Manager, will see you rapidly transition smoothly into the community within this well-established Centre.


PACKAGE

About Apollo Bay Medical Centre

PRACTICE DETAILS

The Apollo Bay Medical Centre is integrated within the Otway Health site, part of Great Ocean Road Health, which includes Urgent Care, Aged Care (20 beds) Acute Care and Community Care. The centre has visiting Allied Health and Specialist services on a regular basis. Pathology services are also on site with a pharmacy located within the community.

Apollo Bay Medical Centre currently has 3 doctors – 1 VR, 2 Registrars and Nurse Practitioners in the Urgent Care.  The Medical Centre consists of 5 consulting rooms with a treatment room.

Current practice hours are Monday to Friday, 8:45 am – 5.45 pm and Saturday 9 am to 12 pm, closed on Sundays.

The main patient health issues impacting on the practice are women’s health, Diabetes, and Chronic Disease Management within the community, with a wide range of clients accessing services during the summer months with an influx of tourists to the region between December and April.

Access to an Allied Health referral network is available through Otway Health with a wide range of services readily accessible.

Lorne and Apollo Bay practices are operating in similar organisation structures with integrated primary care focus. They work together to provide Great Care to the communities along the Great Ocean Road.
