Great Medical Centres
Our medical centres are owned and operated by Great Ocean Road Health, providing several dedicated, highly skilled practitioners who are able to perform a range of health services to members of the local community and visitors to the region.
GP SERVICES
Our medical centre services include:
- health check-ups and assessments
- vaccinations/immunisations
- care plans (including advanced care planning)
- pre-employment medicals
- family planning
- counseling
- minor procedures such as excision of skin lesions, hormone implantation and repair of skin lacerations
- medication review
Your health is important, and we encourage you to see your local GPs for regular health check-ups and vaccinations, help with advanced care planning, or if you’re experiencing illness or injury.
HOME VISITS & TELEHEALTH
HOME VISITS
For patients unable to attend the practice, home visits are available locally for regular patients of the practice at the doctors discretion. Please discuss your requirements with our receptionist.
TELEHEALTH
Telehealth appointments are available for patients to access their specialists. Telehealth aims to complement the important role that GPs play in the provision of after hours care in rural areas. The video-call based service is accessed via the MED App on a smart phone or tablet. This gives medical staff immediate access to a team of Emergency Specialists who can remotely access, diagnose and arrange treatment for patients.
REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
In the interest of minimising and detecting side effects and to ensure that prescribed medications continue to be appropriate, no scripts will be repeated without an appointment with your doctor.
FEES AND BILLING ARRANGEMENTS
Consultation Fees
Standard consultation: $72.00
Long consultation: $110.00
Prolong consultation: $145.00
Bulk Billing and Payment of Fees
We are not a bulk billing practice. Payment in full is appreciated and expected on the day of consultation and can be made by cash or card (excluding AMEX). Fees may vary due to the length and complexity of a consultation and are determined by individual doctors.
The doctor may bulk bill the following patients on presentation of a current Medicare Card and one of the following:
- Veterans Affairs
- Pension Card holders
- Health Care Card
- Children under 16 years of age
If you are experiencing financial difficulty in paying for your account please feel free to discuss this with your doctor or the Clinic Manager.
Medicare Rebates
Medicare rebates are available immediately via Medicare online (into your nominated bank account), or Easy Claim (onto debit card/EFTPOS).
